Tax Associate - 5 Week Contract

About the Opportunity

• Ensure that client dividend/interest payments are balanced on the system and that year-to-date totals are correct
• Submit Receiver General payments to Revenue Canada by the 15th of each month. Forward IRS tax remittances within established deadlines
• Submitting monthly branch compliance reports
• Ensure that minimum reporting, gross ups, and other specifications are correct on reports/forms/tapes and that the proper tax forms are used in production
• Perform user testing of the tax system and submit change requests upon identifying problems
• Ensure that minimum reporting, gross ups, and other specifications are correct on reports/forms/tapes and that the proper tax forms are used in production
• Ensure Trigger tax forms are balanced and reflect the correct data and format
• Coordinate the production of manual tax forms
• Respond on a timely basis to written correspondence, including that from Revenue Canada
• Provide management reporting, as required

About You

• College diploma or university degree or equivalent experience
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Financial services industry experience is an asset
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, required
• Knowledge of tax software, CCH software, and Tax Prep software packages is an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Rate

$18 - $21/hour
