Senior Application Support Analyst

We are working with a great, large company in downtown Toronto. They are looking to hire a Senior Application Support Analyst to maintain, support and continuously update a plethora of small and large internal applications.

The successful candidate will possess well-rounded experience supporting larger applications - CRM, ERP, EMS/DMS/CMS, BI, etc - both on-prem and cloud, both custom developed and third-party platforms.

About the Opportunity

• Protect and ensure the stability of operating systems as well as maintain the integrity of the data they contain
• Provide Enterprise/multi-tier Application Support for internal application platforms
• Monitor and evaluate system performance and identify variances between expected and actual results
• Define and respond to alerts and incidents per agreed SLAs
• Improve early detection of issues through automation
• Drive improvements to the change and release management processes to ensure optimal success ratios
• Assist in the definition of processes and standards related to production functions
• Partner with Infrastructure and Application teams during system design and development to identify and recommend changes to improve system performance
• Provide timely resolution and communication of tickets in the production support queue
• Troubleshoot, isolate, resolve and report on production issues
• Determine the root cause of incidents and make recommendations for prevention in the future
• Enforce compliance requirements for all supported environments
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to prioritize known defects and intermediate workarounds
• Experience supporting applications such as CRM, ERP, BI, CMS - in a Windows desktop/PDA environment

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science or similar field (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
• 5+ years of experience in production application support or similar roles involving large and small third-party customized applications
• Able to install, configure, customize enterprise/n-tier systems - simple project coordination/management and vendor management skills required
• Experience searching application logs, IS logs, Web logs to locate where the error originated
• Experience logging into the server where the application is stored to find and fix errors
• Working knowledge and/or experience in various underlying technologies including the following or combo thereof:
  • Understanding of relational databases, web servers
  • Understanding of data transformation/integration/reporting
  • Experience with application monitoring and alerting
  • Experience with SQL scripting and simple queries
  • Experience with MS Sharepoint
  • Experience with MS Office, VBA

• Experience supporting and configuring CRM, ERP or other enterprise-level application platforms
• Experience with the definition, acquisition, configuration, implementation and maintenance of applications
• Experience implementing and supporting both on-premises and cloud-based solutions

Salary

$90,000 - $95,000/year
