Senior Financial Analyst - 6 Month Contract

Our client is sourcing for a Senior Financial Analyst for a 6 month contracts to assist in preparation and analysis of US and Canadian financial and regulatory reporting for the $10 billion Derivatives and Securities portfolios regulated by OSFI and Head office (full service broker-dealer), regulated by IIROC

About the Opportunity

• Provide day-to-day accounting/regulatory support to the Capital Markets’ businesses, Operations and Product Controllers including the preparation of various management and ad hoc reports
• Proactively review changes in accounting and regulatory requirements and plan for successful implementation
• Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors materials, including business performance analysis
• Assist in the preparation of year end audited financial statements together with support for footnotes
• Assist in regulatory examinations, internal and external audits
• Participate in ad hoc projects and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager

About You

• CPA designation is a must have
• University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• A minimum of four years progressive work experience with a focus on accounting, financial/regulatory reporting, controls and process management, preferably with experience in financial services environment
• Knowledge of Capital Markets’ business and products, a plus
• Proven ability to work independently and to identify and resolve issues by exercising of professional judgment
• Able to build strong relationships and network with various groups across the firm such as traders, business and product controllers, operations
• Strong analytic, accounting, and problem solving skills
• Proficient computer and spreadsheet skills using Excel
• Strong knowledge of PC applications
• A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Pay Rate

$40/hour
