Senior Accountant - 6 Month Contract to Permanent

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 6 month contract that has the potential to become permanent.

About the Opportunity

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete postings
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
• Prepare financial statements. Identify and address discrepancies
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting projects and client on boarding
• Completion of files and compile tax papers for external firm to file tax returns tax preparation to provide
• Assist with year-end auditors, provide supporting documents to external auditors
• Other aspects include: Assist in reconciling the clearing account; HST return filings
• Ensure that all Finance and Accounting policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
• Assist with cost accounting

About You

• Accounting designation
• Audit experience is highly preferred
• A minimum of three years of previous experience, or an equivalent combination of education with work experience in general accounting
• Strong attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Previous experience working in and a manufacturing environment preferred
