Senior Accountant

About the Company

Our client is a Canadian company who manufactures heavy industrial applications. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team to assist in managing the accounting operations.

About the Opportunity

• Assist in managing the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting
• Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies
• Review and justify expense reports and other expenditures
• Supervise the preparation of monthly journal entries
• Prepare and process banking transactions for pre-authorized payments, electronic funds transfers and wires
• Assist the Director in month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements including analysis and production reporting
• Prepare and present financial information for quarterly and annual reports
• Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making.
• Generate financial statements, actual and forecasted cash flows business activity reports and other documents
• Coordinate with external auditors, audit committee and Senior Management. Coordinate formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.Assist and provide support on special projects and miscellaneous requests
• Provide back-up for administrative functions (accounts payable and receivable)
• Other duties as required or assigned

About You

• University Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
• 3-5 years of direct related experience with full cycle accounting, at least 1 year of experience within manufacturing
• Advanced knowledge in all aspects of indirect costs, analyses and reporting required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary

$55,000 - $60,000/year
