Our client located in downtown Toronto is hiring a QA Lead to join their organization on a long-term contract. QA Lead - 12 Month Contract

 

About the Opportunity

  • Act as the SME with the development and implementation of business systems and application testing methodologies, concepts and best practices
  • Manage all automated testing tools and recommend new industry standard tool sets
  • Compiles, distributes and presents project level test summary reports & facilitates final sign off from the stakeholders before go live
  • You will be the professional and technical SME to ALL project teams and team members in relevant work procedures, methodologies, concepts and best practices
  • Lead all delivery and management of the testing environment
  • Manage the general direction for assigned work
  • Manage the facilitates test readiness reviews
  • Ensures procedures and standards fit project's needs and verifies usability for performing reviews and audits throughout the software development life cycle
  • Establish, assign and manage goals and objectives for all testing cycles
  • Oversee user acceptance testing and ensure quality and schedule adherence for projects
  • Contributes and facilitates test environment definition and coordinates environment deployments
  • Manage the units traceability matrix
  • Manage policies and procedures while identifying areas for automation and vulnerabilities while recommending mitigation
  • Establish and manage the facilitates test plan risk assessment
  • Oversees, reviews, and approves the development of regression, test data requirements and test artifacts
  • Author test-cases and manage on-going best practice documentation
  • Manage continuous improvements of the test management function and associated reporting
  • Escalate issues and risks to Service Delivery Manager as required

 

About You

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5+ years of software quality assurance development experience preferably in a lead role
  • SME in QA methodologies
  • Act as the organizations SME with a variety of automation technologies
  • Extensive experience incorporating QA into project architecture and technical design phases
  • Experience working with a bug tracking system such as JIRA
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching junior and senior team members and identifying areas of process and team improvement
  • Experience succeeding in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and outside the box thinking
  • Consistent state of professionalism with a very strong sense of urgency
  • Shows initiative and proactive in your approach to QA best practices
  • Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines on business critical projects
