Project Manager - 12 Month Contract

Our client is seeking for a Project Technical lead for an ERP implementation project.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing the project (Integration and Conversion). The project manager is engaged in one critical initiative and is responsible for delivering the project on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to Executive Leadership are critical tasks that must be performed throughout the project’s life cycle.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are paramount in this role.

The Project Manager must manage from a holistic point of view, understand the big picture and ensure that the best interests of the organization are first and foremost in all decision making and communication. The Project Manager is expected to adhere to all project management protocols.

About the Opportunity

  • Plan project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and micro-deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or project management methods
  • Negotiate with other business units to obtain required skill sets and Identify and resolve any resource allocation discrepancies
  • Support and develop non-functional/Infrastructure, business, accounting, and interfacing requirements
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communication plan
  • Establish, implement, and follow a formal change management program
  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management
  • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects and communicate clearly and transparently to all stakeholders on the overall status of the project including any impasse
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk
  • Manage project dependencies
  • Arrange and facilitate project meetings and document and distribute meeting minutes to team members within a given timeline
  • Work closely with product owners, external and internal development teams and other PM to ensure successful product delivery
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists, where applicable
  • Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings
  • Provide post-project support as required

About You

  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Key core PM competencies: scope management, cost and risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize, delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and deliver resource based project plans
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple segments of the project at the same time
  • Experience in System Development Life cycle and Project Management methodologies; understanding of the inherent value of such and the ability to apply them in a flexible manner in various situations
  • Experience in creating project cost benefit analysis, presenting project budgets, assumptions; ability to attend to management queries related to project budget
  • Excellent people management skills; experience working with and managing teams in a matrix environment
  • Ability to scale thinking and analysis from detail to strategic
  • Very strong customer delivery focus
  • Very strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and time management skills
  • Very strong Microsoft Office and Project skills
  • Some travel may be involved
  • University Degree or equivalent; Professional Accounting Designation; PMP is an asset
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience managing projects using a disciplined approach to project management
  • Experience in Auto/Asset Financing would be a definite asset

Pay Rate

$55/hour
