ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED PAYROLL SUPERVISOR LOOKING FOR AN EXCITING CHALLENGE? Our client requires an experienced payroll professional to join their team for a 6 month contract.

 

Payroll Supervisor - 6 Month Contract

 

About the Opportunity

  • Supervise all payroll administrative services and related functions to ensure the processing of the corporate payroll(s) on an accurate and timely basis
  • Administer the company pension plan
  • Respond to inquiries from employees regarding payroll 
  • Provide administrative direction to staff pertaining to related policies and procedures and related legislation
  • Validate the system calculation of earnings and deductions to ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency, provincial legislation, collective agreement, WSIB and corporate benefit programs
  • Ensure accurate administration, including remittance and reporting of all payroll-related deductions including tax, CPP, EI, OMERS, WSIB, EHT, garnishments and family support payments
  • Review all reconciliations of the payroll general ledger accounts
  • Provide leadership, coaching, development, performance management, technical guidance and advice to payroll department staff

 

About You

  • College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
  • 5-7 years of experience including supervision of payroll staff
  • Canadian Payroll Association designation preferred
  • Extensive working knowledge of pensions and related submission requirements
  • Knowledge of accounting as related to payroll, benefits and pension
  • Proficiency in interpreting policies, procedures, benefits and pension guidelines
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience

 

Pay Rate

$35 - $40/hour
