Payroll/HRIS Coordinator

About the Opportunity

  • Timely and accurate processing of Canadian payroll and US Corporate payroll (union and non union)
  • Process and monitor all staffing changes including new hires, leaves, transfers, salary adjustments, timesheets, manual cheques, terminations, or other changes in accordance with legislative requirements, collective agreements and company standards
  • Works closely with plants and corporate office to ensure all documentation is accurate and forwarded on time for processing
  • Ensure proper statutory and voluntary deductions are made
  • Prepare Record of Employment within legislated timelines when required
  • Responsible for records management of HR and payroll documents
  • Coordinate annual year end process
  • Administer and reconcile group benefits, union dues, 3rd party payments and government remittances
  • Ensures all paper and electronic transactions are processed in a timely manner
  • Maintains the integrity of confidential information through Ceridian and file management
  • Assist with the running of ad hoc and standard payroll reports to support finance, pension, compensation, payroll audits and programs
  • Frequently partners with the Human Resources and Finance teams on specific department initiatives
  • Responsible for WCB/WSIB remittances and group insurance remittances
  • Responds to employee’s inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the over all data integrity of the HRIS/Payroll system
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all aspects of HRIS, Payroll, WFM and Time and Audit, analyze, and validate all HR data including New hires, terminations, transfers
  • Provides monthly, quarterly and year end input of data and reporting
  • Mapping current processes and continuous improvements
  • Collaborates on a variety of initiatives to facilitate and to support Human Resources plans
  • All other duties and projects as assigned

About You

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Payroll and HRIS administration
  • University degree or College diploma in Business/ Human Resources or related courses in payroll and benefits
  • Familiarity and proficiency with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems.)
  • Experience with implementation of a Payroll/HRIS system
  • Strong math skills and excellent analytical skills. Detailed oriented and a high degree of accuracy is key
  • Ability to prepare ad hoc reports using Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Sound, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • PCP, CPM or HR designation is considered a definite asset

Salary

$60,000 - $65,000/year
