Payroll Auditor - 3 Month Contract
About the Opportunity
Perform payroll special audit projects, by:
- Documenting and testing of the company’s payroll procedures and compliance matters
- Gathering and analyzing data through a variety of methods including interviews, financial research, etc.
- Providing recommendations that create efficiencies with respect to payroll and financial reporting
- Preparing detailed work papers for each project assigned
- Writing audit reports and making value-added recommendations
- Providing findings and recommendations based on audit work performed
- Managing time effectively and efficiently to ensure work is completed within established time frames
About You
- Minimum 3-year college diploma
- Professional certificate (Canadian Payroll Association CPA certificate, Payroll Management Certificate, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist CEBS certificate, or Pension Administration Certificate)
- 5+ years of progressive experience specifically related to Payroll, Benefits, and Pensions
- 3-5 years’ experience in a computerized payroll environment, proficient with ADP Payroll System
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment and supporting the collective bargaining process.
- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook required
- Proficient in employment standards, income tax laws regulations and guidelines
- A strong technical aptitude and experience working with large third-party payroll systems and time and attendance systems
- Prior experience with employee benefits analysis, design and administration
- Previous experience working with Defined Benefit (DB) pension plans
Pay Rate
$20 - $30/hour
