Job Costing Accounts Payable Specialist
About the Opportunity
- Administer job cost projects including setup of budgets and construction contracts
- Process accounts payable invoices and construction draw requests (invoices) for payment
- Prepare invoices for overruns or chargebacks for costs that exceed budgeted amounts
- Administer contract holdbacks and releases of holdbacks
- Reconcile work-in-progress accounts on a monthly basis, prepare clearing entries and add the capital additions to the fixed asset module
- Process or review accounts payable batches for accuracy prior to posting and schedule invoices for payment
- Prepare daily cash deposits, lockbox transactions, accurately apply cash receipts to tenant rental accounts, and process accounts receivable entries as required
- Monitor and track actual project costs against established budgets for each contract and follow up with regional office staff for contract revisions on a timely basis
- Monitor cost control coding of invoices by project management staff in order to produce accurate management reporting and tracking of costs for each contract
About You
- Completion of post-secondary education (College diploma or University degree)
- Minimum two years job costing experience in an Accounts Payable function
- Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Sound understanding of accounting concepts
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
Salary
$45,000 - $50,000/year
