Full Stack PHP Developer - 6 Month Contract

 

About the Opportunity

  • Create complex web-based applications in PHP/JavaScript and MySQL following established standards and methodologies of OO/ORM design on the LAMP stack
  • Develop and support SOAP and REST APIs
  • Utilize Linux OS to carry out development duties
  • Improve features in existing system
  • Implement bug fixes
  • Work with other team members to integrate components
  • Strong desire to succeed while taking a pride in ownership in developing clean reusable code
  • Work directly with clients on integrations.
  • Adhere to development best practices, including test driven development

 

About You

  • A degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Relevant work experience developing in all or most of the technologies listed
  • Extensive hands on experience with Object Oriented PHP design and commercial web application development
  • Experience with any modern JavaScript framework (jQuery, Angular, Bootstrap, VueJS, React, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with any PHP frameworks - Symfony, Zend, Laravel, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, PHP Doctrine, etc.
  • SAML, OAuth2, Node.js are nice to have
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Linux command line
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Web Service APIs (SOAP/REST)
  • Extensive experience with MySQL
  • Experience with Bootstrap is an asset
  • Experience developing transactional based systems will take precedence but not required
  • Experience with secure development tools is an asset
  • Experience with data visualization and analytical platforms is an asset
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Redis, MongoDB is an asset
  • Must be a team player, able to work with others, possess a strong work ethic, and have high standards in product quality.
  • Must be able to provide estimates for new projects and adhere to timelines while following design specifications.
  • Must be reliable and able to work during regular business hours or as required to finish a project.
  • Must be willing to learn from other team members, be open to the ideas of others, and also be willing to take direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
