Full Stack PHP Developer

We are working with a client in Mississauga to hire a skilled and enthusiastic PHP Web Developer. In addition to Linux, Apache, SQL and PHP, you should have good experience with CSS, HTML5, Javascript, and jQuery. The ideal candidate should be able to work well with other developers as well as individually - to help develop large internal web applications and effectively communicate with the users on how to best fulfill their needs.

About the Opportunity

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices (PHP OOP)
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases using SQL
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling web applications
• Keep up to date into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Participate in application support (as needed) for the PHP applications
• Collaborate with web designers to match visual design intent - using CSS, HTML, AJAX, jQuery

About You

• In-depth knowledge of Object Oriented PHP web development
• Proven experience with at least one PHP MVC framework (CodeIgniter preferred, but Symfony/Zend/Cake/Laravel are okay as well)
• Exposure to C# is a plus but not required
• Strong SQL query-writing experience
• Understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP) and Web Services (building and consuming)
• Good experience with Linux command line
• A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
• Basic understanding of Accounting/Business terms (used in an ERP system)
• Experience with user-facing support and/or requirements gathering
• BS in computer science or equivalent experience

Salary

$65,000 - $95,000/year
