Financial Analyst - 6 Month Contract

This role supports the accounting department’s mandate of providing timely financial and management accounting reporting and analysis in accordance with IFRS.

About the Opportunity

• Maintain complex accounting models and reports for various items such as pension, fixed assets, variance analysis, etc.
• Compile and prepare reports and schedules for financial and management reporting purposes, internal control use and for use in the consolidated financial reporting
• Compile and analyze information to record entries, analyze accounts and prepare reports or schedules
• Key participant in the month-end, accountable to ensure work is completed within agreed upon deadlines
• Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual reports and standard reporting schedules ensuring accuracy and established principles are utilized
• Liaison and interface with accountants at subsidiary divisions as well as internal departments to provide linkages and build and strengthen internal controls, update models and while following procedures
• Assist with special project work (review of corporate SG&A, fringe rate calculations, identification and evaluation of areas needing improvement thereby driving continuous improvement to process, analysis, surveys, system upgrades and implementations, and other corporate initiatives etc.)
• Evaluate and assess existing reporting, processes, procedures and information flow for weaknesses and opportunities and advise/recommend enhancements to help eliminate inefficiencies and provide continuous improvements
• Analyze sales / Cost of sales to record transfer pricing journal entries
• Interface with internal/ external auditors and prepare working papers as needed to enhance information flow

About You

• Accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA) with a minimum 5 years’ experience within a financial reporting environment
• Strong command of GAAP and IFRS
• Excellent analytical and accounting skills
• Above average Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP would be a strong asset
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Pay Rate

$35 - $37/hour
