ARE YOU AN INTERMEDIATE DATABASE DEVELOPER WHO IS LOOKING TO JOIN A FUN, INTERACTIVE AND SMART TEAM LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO? Our client is currently seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Database Developer for a contract role that may go long-term.

About the Opportunity

  • Design and develop database objects, tables, stored procedures, views and triggers
  • Design and develop SSRS Reports using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Create import scripts to move Excel data into the database
  • Manage the performance of database queries, view and stored procedures by modifying T-SQL and indexes as well as other tasks as defined
  • Reproduce business calculations as SQL queries and ensure that the results are shared with all stakeholders
  • Independently analyze, solve, resolve and correct database issues and report to stakeholders
  • Collect user requirements and translate requirements into technical specs for IT
  • Investigate all data issues and trouble tickets and come up with viable cost-effective solutions
  • Automate manual data entry processes and document to be used as best practice guidelines
  • Come up with creative solutions to optimize existing systems, processes and procedures

About You

  • Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive experience with Database/TSQL and query skills
  • Extensive experience (3+ years) with SQL Server 2008 R2+ along with strong SQL Query Design and Development which should include Multi-Join Views
  • Strong understanding of development and database best practices in Relational Database Schema Design, Table Design and Creation
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server Development including but not limited to Stored Procedures, Views and Functions
  • Understanding or experience with Tableau is preferred
  • Understanding or experience with ETL Development (Extract, Transform and Load)
  • Extensive experience with SSRS Report Writer
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Indexing and Performance Tuning
  • Extensive experience rendering Excel output from SQL reports
  • Superior documentation and presentation skills
  • Experience within the finance industry specifically with card payments is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
