Cost Accountant - 6 Month Contract

The Management Control Analyst provides managers with results for the operational plant site, in adherence to management control standards and to carry out the necessary analysis for running the site efficiently. The focus is solely on the single plant they are responsible for overseeing.

About the Opportunity

  • Prepares and draws up the site specific work files and schedule for the budget. Communicates the group data and objectives as defined by the division
  • Assists Operational Managers with drawing up the budgets, ensures they are consistent and determines the allocation of fixed costs and consolidates the site results
  • Communicates the appropriate information with site management and ensures the information is reliable and exhaustive
  • Produce regular management information and analyze results and discrepancies against the budget and Y-1
  • Support and make recommendations for the action and improvement plans
  • Produce financial simulations on business development opportunities and carry out ad hoc studies regarding margins and profitability
  • Participate in creating and implementing new management tools for the site
  • Ensure the management rules are applied in the various departments in a smooth and consistent manner
  • Provide support to plant Operational Managers in the tools and methods

About You

  • University degree in accounting, business, food engineering or a related discipline
  • Working towards Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a management control, operational finance or related role
  • Experience in dairy processing environment an asset
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP system an asset
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong presentation skills
  • A team player with strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadline
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Strong understanding of SAP, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office application such as Excel and Word
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology including advanced proficiency with Excel (to compile complex spreadsheets), as well as SAP

Pay Rate

$27 - $30/hour
