Cost Accountant

About the Company

Our client is a Canadian company who manufactures heavy industrial applications. They are looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team to provide their expertise in a high volume production and warehouse capacity.

About the Opportunity

• Responsible for pricing customer accounts and update pricing sheet periodically
• Create quotation for new products, verify material cost, calculate labour cost, analyze profit margin and set a reasonable price for the quoted product
• Analyze costing models with the objective of ensuring standard costs accurately reflect the cost of production
• Perform profitability analysis periodically and for new products
• Participate in period-end inventory counts, reconciliation process, and inventory analysis
• Review inventory transactions and analyzing and reporting on variance reports
• Update costs in the bill of material and review actual costs for inaccuracies
• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close

About You

• University degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• 2+ years of direct related employment experience in Cost Accounting
• Advanced knowledge in all aspects of indirect costs, analyses and reporting required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary

$60,000 - $65,000/year
