Corporate Controller

As part of the Management Team, you will play a key role in the execution of business strategy and corporate initiatives. You will have full responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations related to the Finance Department and will manage and provide leadership the team.

About the Opportunity

  • Direct management of various functional teams within the Finance department, including Accounting Analyst and Financial Reporting team, Internal Controls, Treasury and Accounts Payable
  • Oversight and responsibility for the monthly close process, including monthly internal management reporting and analysis
  • Oversight and responsibility over effective financial reporting that enhances the culture of financial accountability throughout the organization
  • Management of the treasury function includes working capital management, cash management, foreign exchange exposure, interest hedging and bank credit facility
  • Assistance in supporting the Taxation function within the company, including tax planning and strategy for the US and Global expansion
  • Management and responsibility over the Intercompany Transfer Pricing structure and execution
  • Support the development, implementation and achievement of Finance goals and objectives, and ensure these are aligned with the overall business strategic plan and initiatives
  • Support cross functional/departmental initiatives and projects from planning, through to implementation as required
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures and systems that will enhance the quality of work and service provided by all finance team members
  • Manage the annual audit process, including communication with the audit team, coordination of requirements within the Finance team and preparation and review of financial statements with note disclosures using IFRS accounting standards
  • Support the preparation of financial and operational budgets, forecasts and plans
  • Support the development and reporting of business and financial scorecards to monitor business performance and support effective decision making
  • Support the identification, planning and implementation of financial systems and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness of business resources
  • Direct the preparation of special reports and analysis as required and make specific recommendations for action related to business activities and strategy when appropriate
  • Lead, coach and mentor the team consistent with company policies, guidelines, and standards
  • Other role related duties as assigned

About You

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
  • CPA, CA required with in-depth IFRS experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Finance Management role
  • Experience within a consumer packaged goods environment would be a benefit
  • Direct experience working with or managing taxation requirements
  • Experience working with a large ERP system is required
  • Highly responsible and accountable individual who is proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
  • Leadership and coaching skills; outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite

Salary Range

$130,000- $150,000/year
