Accounting Manager - 16 Month Contract

Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager to cover for a maternity leave. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the incumbent will be responsible for all general accounting functions.

About the Opportunity

  • Manage the finance and accounting, payroll, accounts payable and internal audit areas
  • Manage team / department consisting of designated and non-designated team members
  • Manage treasury functions including cash management and forecasting
  • Manage and oversee external audit
  • Financial reporting including implementing and maintaining controls over reporting processes 

About You

  • University degree and CPA designation
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong people management experience running larger teams
  • Strong communication and soft skills are a must
  • Experience in dealing with public and private company reporting and responsibilities
  • Strong focus on internal controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills which will be used to coach and collaborate with internal teams, and external service providers
  • Knowledge of industry specific accounting principles (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS
  • Some travel may be required to fulfill the requirements of the position
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with Finance team members
  • Must be able to manage time deadlines and deliverable dates

Pay Rate

$90,000/year
