About the Opportunity

• Responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of associates engaged in the daily operation of Purchasing and Accounts Payable
• Responsible for monitoring the entire Purchasing process from Requisitions to Receiving of goods and services and payment of invoices, including Purchase Match Exception review and decision making
• Responsible for Vendor Management, including a thorough review for accuracy and adherence to company policies for all new or change in existing vendor setups
• Address issues in a timely manner to minimize any negative impact to the business or vendors
• Responsible for Weekly and ad hoc Pay Cycles and the coordination of Wire Transfers with the Treasury Department
• Investigate aged open items and documents that are “blocked” for payment in vendor account
• Prepare, review and approve various month-end journal entries, reconciliations, analyses and monthly reports
• Provide training and guidance to AP/PO team associates in the interpretation and application of Company Policies and Accounting Standards
• Be the SAP AP/PO Super User for the functional aspects necessary to operate at all levels within area of responsibility
• Participate in SAP enhancements and testing activities
• Lead a team of 5 A/P associates
• Responsible for compliance activities including updating documentation and supporting Sarbanes Oxley Audits
• Prepare/provide Audit required information and respond to inquiries from Auditors

About You  

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or business and/or equivalent experience of 5+ years working in an Accounting department
• Professional Accounting Designation is preferred
• 5 + Years of progressive Accounts Payable related experience preferred
• Excellent communications with internal and external customers is a must
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly; ability to take initiative
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail is essential with focus on high quality of deliverables
• Commitment to continuous improvement a must
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point
• Experience with ERP System (Accounts Payable, Purchasing, General Ledger – SAP preferably)
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal departments and affiliated subsidiaries and external contacts (auditors)
• Enjoy team building approach of management and department - shares results

Salary Range
$80,000 - $85,000/year
