Sr Manager, IT Infrastructure

This role is responsible for the Infrastructure services function that includes data centre infrastructure (servers, storage, networking and appliances), application support, network administration, network engineering, property-facing technologies such as wireless infrastructure, and tier 2/3 support for core networking and desktop services.

This position is responsible for managing Information Technology infrastructure-related hardware and/or software deployment projects, including leading efforts through architecture, design, build and deploy phases using structured approach. The job includes managing staff, vendors, capital and expense budgets for projects. A high level of communication skills, detail orientation and passion to drive results is essential for the role.

About the Opportunity

  • Provide infrastructure services vision, enable innovation and leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company’s requirements and expectations
  • Lead strategic technology initiatives to build and maintain key elements of the company’s enterprise infrastructure and associated project portfolio, including but not limited to data centre infrastructure management and evolution, mobility and remote access services, enterprise-scale file share environments, active directory integration, software-defined internetworking, and innovative end-user computing solutions
  • Provide leadership for delivery of IT service operations and KPI compliance. Establish metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements to continually improve the performance of IT operations
  • Ensure comprehensive disaster recovery architecture is maintained and operations are in place to ensure compliance with SOX, PCI, SOC, etc.
  • Lead a talented team of 20+ internal employees who with others define, manage and support the entire operations infrastructure. Responsible for creating a team environment that fosters professional development and a high level of team engagement
  • Participate in IT strategic planning, project planning and budget planning efforts
  • Analyze technology trends and develop infrastructure strategy, architecture, and delivery processes designed for agility and cost effectiveness
  • Establish and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with vendors and service suppliers
  • Coordinate Infrastructure projects/resources with the IT project management office
  • Ensure all project deliverables, budgets and timelines are met

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related major preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing and/or directing large IT operational teams preferred
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL - incident/problem/change management and corresponding processes
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10+ staff with excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of data centre operations, telecommunications, network engineering, data centre applications, client/server computing, and production operations support in multi-platform (Windows and Linux)
  • Experience in related IT disciplines such as data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration and outsourced systems
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, and the ability to lead cross-functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature
  • A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services they enable as well as the criticality of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT
  • Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to Infrastructure projects and teams. Formal project management expertise is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
  • Must have strong organizational skills and multitasking capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

Pay Range
$120,000/year
