About the Company

Our client who is a very large bank located downtown, is looking for a Senior Manager to join their Accounting Policy team. This team ensures that the consolidated shareholder reports are prepared in accordance with IFRS and OSFI requirements. This involves providing financial accounting and regulatory advisory support to the Business units and Corporate areas on emerging and existing complex accounting and regulatory issues.

About the Opportunity  

The Senior Manager will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on issues related to the retail business as well as leading transaction and project implementation programs on an ad hoc basis.

• Be the subject matter expert on complex accounting issues or transactions
• Present complex accounting topics to stakeholders, recognizing and anticipating potential opportunities and managing changes as the business, regulatory environment, or accounting standards change
• Lead and develop the Department’s Subject Matter Expertise in areas such as financial instruments accounting under IFRS and U.S. GAAP
• Work closely with the IFRS project teams to implement other new IFRS standards impacting the businesses
• Review quarterly financial statements and the annual report and provide support for the quarterly reporting package to the Audit Committee

About You

• CPA designation, or equivalent
• Strong IFRS technical accounting background with a focus on financial instruments

Salary Range
$105,000-$120,000/year
