Senior IT Project Manager

About the Opportunity

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, implement, and execute all activities of assigned projects
  • Ensure project objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope and budget
  • Manage multiple IT projects simultaneously
  • Work with leaders and stakeholders to identify gaps and areas of process improvement
  • Manage resources across multiple international time zones
  • Act as a project manager, planning, executing, controlling and closing team projects
  • Use project management knowledge to adhere to set standards with respect to project scope, time, costs and quality; makes recommendations for improvements to project team
  • Ability to effectively drive results in a fast moving, dynamic environment
  • Strong focus on Project Management governance, process and best practices
  • Prepare project estimates and schedules of project activities as required

About you

  • Expert level experience working with retail clients on the roll out of new retail store locations on a global scale
  • Managed multiple (4+) major projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast moving environment
  • Expert understanding of retail technologies such as but not limited to POS MS Dynamics Retail, Salesforce, HP Hardware, Dell Platform Networking, wired/wireless technologies, connectivity, high availability environments, BI, End-To-End Infrastructure, etc.
  • Vendor and carrier management experience
  • Strong balance between rigor and fluidity
  • Must have 8 to 10 years of experience as a Technology Project Manager
  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen
  • Works well in a team environment with sound negotiation and people skills
  • Ability to co-coordinate diverse projects simultaneously by using effective planning, organization and management skills
  • Ability to manage expectations regarding business requirements and results and ensuring quality
  • You must have superior written and verbal communication skills
  • You must have strong requirements gathering skills with the ability to turn user requirements into technical documents
  • Understand the importance of brand recognition
  • Experience working with fast growing companies that have constant scope changes and accelerated business models 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Must have a PMP or related certification
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • You must be able to travel within Canada and internationally if/when required
