About the Company

Our client is a well-run base metals company where we have placed several CPAs. The firm is positioned for significant growth over the next 12 months.

About the Opportunity  

• Consolidations
  • Own the preparation of monthly/quarterly journal entries for exploration entities and for consolidation eliminations
  • Preparing of monthly consolidated trial balance under IFRS through being the key contact with business units and corporate finance staff
• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of quarterly financial reporting
  • Preparing of quarterly financial statements and applicable notes under IFRS including audit support for all notes and financials
  • Preparing of quarterly MD&A including audit support for all references under IFRS and North American exchange listing requirements
  • Key contact with organizational leaders in the preparation of sections of the MD&A
• Technical Research
  • Research and documentation for the accounting treatment of new and updated IFRS pronouncements and for various business developments
  • Key contact for collecting and communicating accounting issues with the business units and facilitating training sessions with the business units in order to provide them the appropriate knowledge and resources to implement these standards
• Support of financing, M&A, and Investor Relations
  • Responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely information to finance and other departments (treasury, tax, legal, investor relations, health and safety and corporate development) to support various ongoing business developments
  • Responsible for insuring financial information included in other department’s presentations/information is accurate
• Operational Finance Support
  • Ongoing support of Director, Finance and site finance leads towards implementation and planning of special finance projects related to process improvements

About You

• CPA, CA
• Recently qualified
• Preference for Big 4, but will consider mid-sized as well
• Must have IFRS experience
• Mining clients an asset

Salary Range
$80,000-$85,000/year
