Senior Financial Analyst

Our large insurance client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a long term contract.  The role will reside in the Finance Project Team and support robust strategic business case development and ensure financial viability of new initiatives, including product, service, and business opportunities. The team supports the Bank Executive Leadership Team, Product Development and Pricing, as well as representing Bank Finance on all project working groups. The Finance Project Team also completes ad hoc analysis to support decision making, manages the Finance impact of implementation of new product and services, and ensures all appropriate Finance project management policies and procedures are in place. 

The Senior Project Financial Analyst is responsible for creating complex financial models, ad hoc analysis, and representing Finance on all project working groups. The candidate is expected to apply project management and business analytical skills in the day-to-day execution of project assignments, and to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as positive influencing skills. The candidate must be able to create strong working relationships with key business partners and develop an in-depth understanding of the organization's products, services, processes and systems. 

About the Opportunity  

• Design dynamic and complex financial models to aid in the assessment of the financial viability of strategic initiatives for Product Development, Pricing Committee and Executive Leadership Team 
• Work closely with Product Managers, Project Intake and Work Area Managers to ensure key business assumptions are reflected in all business analysis 
• Participate in various cross-functional project working groups to launch new initiatives 
• Write Project Memorandums highlighting project scope and deliverables as well as expected impact to Finance 
• Manage Implementation and user testing of new product and service initiatives as they impact Finance 
• Ensure Finance project management policies, procedures and key controls are met for all new and steady state initiatives 
• Build tools to monitor project success factors embedded in business cases against actual results and provide analysis/commentary
• Provide ad-hoc analysis as required to support decision making of senior leaders, including sensitivity analysis, product profitability reviews, impact of pricing changes, and “what if” scenarios 
• Review project business requirement documents and assess impacts to Finance

About You

• Accounting designation – CPA, CGA, CMA, CA 
• Advanced Excel and Access skills 
• Strong financial modeling skills 
• Proven project management skills 
• Experience in a financial services organization (preferably Banking) an asset 
• Superior verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent presentation and facilitation skills 
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects 

Pay Range
$40/hour
