Senior Financial Analyst
About the Company
Our client is a not-for-profit, self-funded organization dedicated to enhancing public safety. With headquarters in Toronto, they employ approximately 380 staff, 70 percent of whom work in operations. Governed by a 13-member board of directors, our client is accountable to the Ontario government, the residents of Ontario and its other stakeholders.

About the Opportunity
- Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks
- Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget, forecast and prior year results
- Improve financial status by monitoring and reporting on variances, identifying trends and providing variance explanations with recommendations to management
- Produce monthly reports to display key aspects of the analysis for inclusion (i.e. trends and KPIs)
- Determines cost of operations by collecting operational data and identifying direct and indirect costs attributable to services delivered
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance staff and Senior Management Team to support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Maintain a financial analysis database (Microsoft Access) by entering, verifying and backing up data
- Increase productivity by developing automated accounting processes and reports and coordinating information requirements
- Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis as required
- Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
- Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
About You
- CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA designation
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience
- Strong Microsoft Access and Excel skills are important
Salary Range
$75,000/year
