Senior Analyst

About the Opportunity  

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Support the day to day activities of the Finance function to ensure appropriate accounting and recording of financial transactions
• Assist with the month end financial close and reporting process including preparation and review of reconciliations
• Liaise and collaborate with Finance team members and other internal stakeholders to analyze and assess variances
• Prepare commission payment and sales rebate calculations
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and month end accounting entries
• Assist with identifying financial and business risks and providing recommendations to mitigate potential exposures
• Support financial and related audits
• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedural documentation and assist with maintaining an effective financial control environment
• Provide support for other ad hoc requests, as necessary to assist and support the Finance Accounting Team

Treasury & Tax

• Prepare cash flow analysis to assist with effective management of cash requirements
• Ensure Transfer pricing documentation is contemporaneous and updated as required

Process Improvement Initiatives

• Identify process and efficiency improvements and assist with implementation
• Proactively identify potential risks and control gaps that may impact effectiveness of financial accounting and reporting
• Assist with other special projects that have a direct or indirect impact on the Accounting team, as required

About You

• CPA designation is required
• 5+ years’ progressive post designation experience in a fast paced environment 
• Self-starter energized by new challenges and the opportunity to optimize processes and drive efficiencies
• Able to identify areas for improvement and lead change in a complex organization 
• A change agent with the ability to multi-task across several business-as-usual activities and projects (willingness to challenge the status quo)
• Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft is preferred) and reporting systems such as Hyperion 
• Working knowledge of Canadian Corporate and Commodity Tax is an asset 
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; attention to detail and solid documentation techniques 
• Analytical approach with solid problem solving and decision-making skills 
• Experience working in multinational financial organizations with matrix reporting structures would be an asset 

Salary Range
$80,000-$85,000/year
