Our client is a large and growing re-Insurance firm in Toronto. They have global operation and offices around the world and are headquartered in California, USA. About the Opportunity  

• Timely and accurate production of monthly and quarterly accounting information and related analysis
• Analysis of actual financial results against plan and prior periods by providing commentary on a quarterly basis
• Manage the preparation of various management reports
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual statutory exhibits and supplementary data for the group’s portion of the total company reporting
• Manage the experience refund process and the accruals process
• Ad-hoc activities
  • Support the Reinsurance Accounting Manager and the AVP, Finance by managing ad hoc projects when required
• Internal Controls
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements in financial reporting and analysis processes, ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.

About You

• Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA)
• Minimum of 4 years accounting experience with solid exposure to financial reporting and analysis
• Demonstrated strength in the use of MS Excel, MS Access, Cognos, Essbase, PeopleSoft
• Good understanding of different bases of accounting (IFRS, USGAAP, US Stat and US Tax)
• Good understanding of reinsurance/ensure accounting and knowledge of actuarial concepts
• Strong interpersonal/negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with different functional areas
• Excellent analytical, problems solving and technical accounting skills

Salary Range
$65,000-$80,000/year
