LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED SENIOR ACCOUNTANT. Our client is sourcing for a Senior Accountant for a 12 month contract with the potential to go permanent.

About the Opportunity  

  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Substantiate financial transactions by performing analysis on financial records
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents
  • Review HST returns prepared by bookkeeper for accuracy
  • Correct errors by preparing adjusting journal entries
  • Assist bookkeeper in accounting for non-routine transactions
  • Review and file all legal documents, ensuring all transactions have been recorded correctly
  • Provide financial status information by preparing special reports; complete special projects
  • Compile accounting and tax files
  • Review, investigate and reconcile variances between taxes filed and assessed
  • Coordinate with foreign tax return preparer as necessary
  • Answer questions for tax group and foreign tax preparer as necessary
  • Conduct historical information gathering for tax group as requested
  • Calculate estimates of corporate management fees, taxes and required installments where necessary
  • Prepare draft management fee invoices and HST elections where necessary
  • Coordinate payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Analyze entities for business and tax concerns and opportunities
  • Comply with provincial, state and federal regulatory requirements (Canadian and foreign)
  • Review and analyze reports from other departments and sister companies
  • Present and report to senior management and owners
  • Other duties as required

About You

  • Designation is a must have
  • 3-5 years accounting/tax experience is a must have
  • Advanced Excel is a must have
  • CaseWare and CaseView experience is must have
  • TaxPrep experience is a must have
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Ability to work on her own and in group settings

Pay Range
$35/hour
