LONG-TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE FOR REGULATORY FINANCE SPECIALIST ROLE. Our client is seeking an individual to fill an opening for 16 months with the potential to grow into a permanent position.

Regulatory Finance Specialist – 16 Month Contract

About the Opportunity  

  • Prepare information for complex regulatory applications, reporting and filings
  • Assist with regulatory and financial audits
  • Prepare month-end regulatory entries and regulatory variance analysis
  • Prepare and manage monthly settlement processes with the IESO and others
  • Review and approve monthly invoices related to the electricity market
  • Develop Excel models to support regulatory changes and new requirements
  • Prepare and develop regulatory analysis/reports as required
  • Develop reports (report writer software)
  • Provide regulatory guidance for rate setups and testing
  • Review and assess impacts of regulatory codes and government legislation and provide recommendations for implementation 
  • Facilitate changes to the website relating to regulatory issues
  • Assist in all regulatory matters, including the composition and writing of documents for submission to the Ontario Energy Board
  • Respond to compliance issues; recommend and assist in implementation of corrective action plans for resolution of issues
  • Improve processes and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You

  • Accounting designation
  • 5 years of financial and business administration experience in an analytical role
  • Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP
  • Knowledge of IESO and OEB rules; Codes and Regulations is nice to have
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range
$30-$35/hour
