Projections Analyst – 12 Month Contract

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team with significant responsibilities in the Actuarial, Finance and Risk areas. As part of the Projections team, the Projections Analyst will be responsible for producing frequent loss forecasts, updating and maintaining actuarial projection models as well as complex financial and actuarial analyses. Work will be dynamic and fast-paced with meaningful impact on the Company’s strategic direction.

About the Opportunity  

• Produce loss forecasts using actuarial projection models for financial planning
• Support Basis Change with model redevelopment, calibration and validation relating to the Loss Projection Model
• Collaborate with modelers in development of stochastic projection models
• Support credit score migration experience studies
• Perform required programming changes to projection model in SAS, C and Excel platforms
• Maintain and update formal documentation and process manuals for all projection models
• Support all OSFI & Rating Agency related initiatives (Stress Testing, MCT)
• Provide forecasts for Pricing / Profitability / Capital modeling initiatives

About You

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Math or Computer Science
• 1-3 years of proven experience in the development and implementation of forecasting models
• Experience with SAS, C, or Cloud Computing preferred
• Advanced Excel knowledge required
• Solid understanding of mortgage insurance industry
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to work cross-functionally within a matrix organization
• Superior problem solving, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
