Pricing Analyst – 3 Month Contract

The Pricing Analyst supports the pricing process for the Capital Markets trading desks and ensures adherence to all required standards. Accountable for pricing functions that frequently require specialized handling and skills, act as an escalation point for the Pricing Group business challenges, and apply product knowledge to ensure consistency and effectiveness of service and support alongside effective management of risk and controls. The Pricing Analyst is accountable for market data analysis for trading portfolios. You will anticipate, investigate and resolve a variety of changing and diverse problems related to pricing, in order to ensure that daily reporting requirements are met. You will also support multiple trading desks daily activities and provides official market data to build daily pricing environment.

About the Opportunity

  • Support trading business in different geographic locations
  • Perform EOD pricing and analysis and liaise with various groups for completing MTM process
  • Investigate mark to market differences of trading portfolio on a timely manner. Liaise with Front Office, Risk and other Middle Office groups for all price entries for P/L purposes across the bank to resolve any non-routine or complex issues
  • Investigate and resolve differences between the ledgers and the source systems with P&L groups and source system technical support groups to ensure accurate reporting
  • Prepare commentary and analyses with market prices and portfolio MTMs for Finance and Risk to explain month over month and quarter over quarter fluctuations
  • Understand risks inherent in pricing and take appropriate actions, including accuracy and safeguarding of all documentation and any other requirements to ensure operational integrity is maintained
  • Ensure adherence to all aspects of First Principles, Our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Corporate Policy, as well as all applicable legislation, regulatory rules and requirements, and Bank standards, policies and procedures (P&Ps) for such things as potential conflicts of interest, safeguarding of customer information, trading in securities, anti-money laundering, privacy and disclosure of outside business activities

About You

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a major Canadian banking or financial institution
  • Advanced knowledge of derivative and cash products (bonds, swaps, options, futures, foreign exchange)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pricing and risk management practices
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data
  • Advanced Excel – knowledge of macros and basic VBA
  • Banking experience – product knowledge from banking, brokerage etc.
  • Experience working with Bloomberg, Reuters
  • University degree  in Economics, Finance, Engineering
  • Pursing or enrolled in Canadian Securities Course is preferred

Pay Range
$22-$26/hour
