ARE YOU A PAYROLL PROFESSIONAL SEEKING AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR A PRESTIGOUS FIRM? Our client hiring for a senior level Payroll Specialist to oversee their standalone, mid-sized, multi-provincial payroll.
Payroll Specialist
About the Opportunity
- Ensure the accurate processing of semi-monthly payroll and timely distribution of compensation to employees
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries
- Calculate labour rates
- Process annual incentive compensation payroll
- Calculate payroll taxes and benefits as required
- Monthly remittance of pension contributions for employee and employer
- Administer payroll in compliance with regulatory bodies as well as IIROC policies
- Review annual Pension Fund statements in accordance with Ontario Pension Act
- Reconciliation of ADP year-end tax forms and filing of government forms
- Assist with the reconciliation with monthly payroll from ADP to accounting system
- Prepare month-end compensation analysis
- Work with Finance and HR management to finalize compensation budgets and forecasts
- Prepare year-end audit schedules as requested by external auditors
- Develop a good understanding of the HR planning and analysis tool and contribute towards automation/integration
- Key contact with ADP
- Key contact for employee inquires related to payroll, taxable benefits
- Other tasks as assigned
About You
- Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing a CPM or hold a completed CPM
- Must have experience overseeing a payroll of approximately 500 employees
- Must have multi-provincial payroll experience (including Quebec) and pension experience
- Extensive knowledge of ADP Payroll (Pay Specialist) – over 8 years of experience
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM)
- University degree and/or Professional Accounting designation
- Knowledge of taxable benefits both for Federal and Revenue Quebec
- Knowledge of employment standards
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of government regulations governing all aspects of payroll
Salary Range
$65,000 - $80,000/year
