ARE YOU A PASSIONATE PAYROLL PROFESSIONAL LOOKING FOR AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY? Our client is looking to hire a Payroll Manager to join their team on a 3 to 6 month contract opportunity.

Payroll Manager – 3 to 6 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

  • Manage the bi-weekly payroll processing for 500 employees based in two sites, Ontario and Quebec, both salaried and hourly
  • Perform bi-weekly audit of all payroll processing to ensure that all internal audit controls are being adhered to
  • Expert knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation as it pertains to payroll and remain current on all relevant changes to legislation
  • Manage the year-end reporting and T4 issuance
  • Manage benefit programs (main point of contact)
  • Oversee master data management process activities
  • Administration of the pension plan
  • Generate reports for RRSP/DPSP and GSIP/GSIPCo contributions and oversee all related documentation and processing (e.g. prepare file for transmission to carrier, prepare monthly report for GSIP sales and issue cheque requests to finance for payment)

About You

  • Certified payroll designation
  • Strong understanding and experience with People@Work and Pay@Work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial legislation
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent management abilities
  • Team player

Pay Range
$25-$40/hour
