ARE YOU A SEASONED PAYROLL MANAGER LOOKING TO UTILIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE? Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager on a full-time basis.

Payroll Manager

Location: Kitchener 

About the Opportunity

  • Manage the preparation, distribution and reporting process for Canadian and U.S. payroll including full-time, part-time, hourly and salaried employees
  • Oversee the calculation of wages, overtime and deductions to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and legislations
  • Timely preparation and distribution of all T4 and other payroll related tax slips to employees
  • Ensure that all payments and government reports are disbursed timely and accurately
  • Establishes policies and procedures for the payroll function
  • Prepares monthly reports for management
  • Partners with HR and Benefits in aligning and implementing changes and controls leading to best-practice operations
  • Lead system implementations and process improvements

About You  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • CPM strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/management level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll related tax filings in Canada
  • Knowledge of U.S. payroll and related tax filings highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CERIDIAN payroll system. Experience with DAYFORCE or Ceridian WFM strongly preferred
  • Experience in system implementations and process improvements
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel
  • International payroll tax experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Self-directed and motivated
