Network Administrator – 3 Month Contract, Part-time Hours

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Property Accounting and Finance, you will be required to maintain and support the company's Local Area Network environment.

  • Manage and maintain user ID's, user profiles, groups through Active Directory. Set up redundancy between different servers for failover
  • Manage domain controller: DNS, DHCP, ITS, App Server, and CA
  • Work with VMWare. Creating, deleting and taking snapshots of virtual machines. Configuring and managing sites and data in SharePoint
  • Configure and manage network via system centre
  • Set up and modify Firewall rules using deep inspection
  • Good understanding on NTFS permissions on folders and mapping drives; able to establish and maintain workstation access security using group policies
  • Maintain and/or replace server hardware components in both Rack and Tower structure
  • Good understanding of different backup techniques. Knowledge of tape backups and disk backups
  • Configure and manage onsite and offsite backups
  • Manage and maintain e-mail accounts, quota restrictions, and tracing emails
  • Perform hardware replacement on workstations
  • Install and sync smartphones and order replacement of pagers
  • Ensure reliable network connectivity between servers, printers, and user workstations; monitor and troubleshoot network and server problems, end-to-end
  • Install and test office automation software tools
  • Configure, test and install printers and personal computers. Provide technology support and help desk services to end users. Order toner supplies and other computer related supplies as required
  • Photocopiers - Configure, test, and administer multifunction photocopiers
  • Phone Systems - Administer Nortel BCM digital phone system, program handsets and switchboards
  • Maintain and administer remote Access VPN connection to Maintenance Office. Provide recommendations on purchasing hardware or software

About You

Must have experience and strong technical knowledge on:

  • Network administration
  • Knowledge of NAT, Static NAT, and Proxy rules, personal computer hardware and architecture Windows 2012, 2008 R2, and 2003 Server Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office 2007, 2010 and 2013 Symantec Endpoint Protection Windows Server Update Services System Center 2012
  • Sharepoint Foundations 2012 BlackBerry and iPhone Symantec Backup Exec
  • Experience and knowledge of TCP/IP addressing. Internet/Intranet products and services would be a definite asset
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and must be highly motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Must have a diploma or degree in a related field
  • Must be MCSA/MCSE certified or must have related experience
