Manager of Corporate Accounting
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for managing the Corporate Accounting team.
About the Opportunity
- This role will be responsible for managing the AP, Treasury and Fixed Asset Accounting functions
- Plan and organize activities, priorities, and projects for the Corporate Accounting group
- Manage the activities and resources to optimize performance and effectively meet service standards, client expectations (and legislated requirements, if applicable)
- Manage all Corporate Accounting functions ensuring transactions are processed on a timely basis and are in compliance with organizational policies and, the Excise Tax Act (ETA) as applicable
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the team. Train and develop staff, and work to build and maintain a positive, results-oriented team environment
- Implement appropriate policies, processes and controls which will ensure operational activities are carried out in an effective, efficient and controlled manner. Ensure these are clearly understood by the team
- Manage existing process documentation and operating procedures for all key processes to reduce operational risk
- Manage the internal control framework for the team’s processes
- Implement changes as appropriate to ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Lead the implementation of and reporting on key performance indicators (KPI) for the team, identifying metrics which can be used to drive operational efficiency and reduce transaction costs where possible
About You
- Completed university degree in commerce/business and completion of a professional accounting designation
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience with a minimum of 4 years in a management capacity
- Experience in corporate accounting, treasury and accounts payable functions with high volume processing
- Proficient in computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to lead, coach, mentor and motivate productive work teams
Salary Range
$80,000-$100,000/year
