ARE YOU A LEASE COORDINATOR SEEKING AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY? Our client is seeking a Lease Coordinator on a full-time basis.

Lease Coordinator

Our client is looking to hire a Leasing Coordinator who will oversee their commercial portfolio. The role is very similar to a sales oriented position and would be focused on sourcing new tenants and renewing existing tenants, as well as reveiwing leasing documents and understanding zoning bylaws. The role requires travel (40% or less, only in Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Toronto).

You will be responsible for new deals, renewals sub-leases/assignments, and re-location leases for assigned buildings within the company portfolio. The assigned portfolio may consist of retail, industrial, and/or office space. Networking with real estate brokers in order to promote the company and market available space.

About the Opportunity

  • Responding to lease inquiries
  • Discussing requirements with agents/client to determine leasing feasibility
  • Obtain and forward necessary information to assist agents in presenting property; arrange for presentation of proposed space
  • Consulting with proposed tenant/agent to determine finishing specifications
  • Consulting with Tenant Co-ordinator to obtain a finishing price, possible floor plan, and construction specification, to determine proposed lease rate
  • Recommending and discussing lease rates and terms with Executive for approval
  • Prepare written and verbal lease proposal based on approved rate and terms
  • Attend leasing meetings with real estate agents
  • Marketing as required on specific properties
  • Supervision of one administrative staff
  • Drafting leasing assumptions for future budgets
  • Preliminary negotiating of leases and other lease related documents and co-ordinating with the company lawyer, as necessary to resolve issues
  • Some collections as required from specific buildings/tenants
  • Consulting with Property Managers/Maintenance Department to ensure vacant units are in presentable condition and to Landlord's standard
  • Supervising of preparation of letters of intent, offers to lease, leases and other lease related documents and correspondence with input, as necessary from the company lawyer

About You  

  • 2 to 4 years relevant experience Retail leasing experience preferred
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to handle stressful situations
  • Strong attention to detail, good people skills and effective negotiation abilities
  • Understanding of and ability to read lease documents and zoning by-laws
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office Word & Excel
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager would be an asset

Salary Range
$50,000 - $60,000/year
