Junior Treasury Analyst - 6 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure completion within reporting deadlines
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of accounting journal entries for Treasury related items
  • Analyze bank statements, general ledger accounts and bank reconciliation reports. Identify and investigate discrepancies. Escalate unresolved discrepancies to Supervisor, Cash Management
  • Match and verify cleared cheques to bank reports. Investigate and report discrepancies to Supervisor, Cash Management
  • Review accounting package from Client Financial Services which includes daily deposits; validates G/L coding of accounts; and confirms reconciliation calculation
  • Prepare daily cash reports and various analysis
  • Prepare bank fee analysis
  • Prepare cash flow reports
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Provide back-up support to team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Adheres to established policies and procedures

About You

  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Process improvement mindset - able to identify and eliminate waste through process improvements
  • Quick to learn new systems and processes
  • Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting or related program
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in cash management or accounting 
  • Currently working towards an accounting designation

Pay Range
$17-$20/hour
