Junior Desktop Support Specialist - 6 Month Contract
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Network Manager, the Junior Desktop Support Specialist's role is to provide support to the internal computer user population in an effort to maintain productivity and minimize downtime during the night shift which is 10:00PM - 6:00AM.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and software products
- Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or emails regarding user desktop software issues
- Work to meet service level agreements with end users
- Performs other duties as assigned
About you
- Completed or be working toward a College Diploma or University Degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field with personal experience or 1-2 years equivalent recent work experience
- MCP or equivalent certification will take precedence
- Strong customer service orientation
- Application support experience with: Microsoft Office, Wireless Connectivity, Peripheral Support, HP Laptop/Desktop Support, VoIP Support, Active Directory, Windows 7
- Quick thinker, sense of urgency
- Organized and responsible
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
