Project Manager - Retail Systems

About the Opportunity

The ideal Project Manager should have experience managing retail system implementation projects from start to finish. The ability to work with internal teams and stakeholders, as well as external vendors and integrators, is critical to the success of this role. This includes leading the business analysis process and providing product and implementation expertise to team members on how best to implement and manage the project team.

You must have the ability to multitask and enhance a team environment. Being a team player is critical for success. This can be either a full-time permanent position or a contract-to-hire role. Expert understanding of retail is a big plus.

  • Manage the implementation and integration of retail, e-commerce and order management systems
  • Deliver deep retail domain expertise in multiple application or technical areas as a subject matter expert
  • Lead the planning and implementation of for a Tier I, II software system
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables per business needs, and conveying to third party vendors and internal teams
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans using Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Work to satisfactorily plan and schedule project timelines to guarantee on-time delivery of the systems
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Keep all stakeholders updated on progress of project
  • Analyze business/technical requirements and objectives, perform fit/gap analysis and provide client recommendations
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve defined project outputs
  • Provide project management expertise throughout entire project

About You

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Project Manager with experience implementing complex retail and/or e-commerce or order management, loyalty or merchandising systems 
  • Understanding of retail vertical, POS systems, ERP/merchandising/retail systems is a plus
  • Proven experience managing complex software vendor/supplier/integrator relationships 
  • Proven experience managing high visibility, complex system implementation projects with very tight timelines and budgets
  • Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal
