Graphic/Web Designer

Our client is seeking a Web Designer to join their talented team! Reporting to the Director of Marketing/UX-UI Strategy, the Graphic/Web Designer is responsible for in-house design and development of internal and external marketing communication web materials. These must be visually distinctive and aligned with their corporate design standards. Collaborating with the in house Design and Development teams, the Graphic/Web Designer will produce materials that are consistent with strengthening the organization’s brand identity through all channels, both internal and online.

About the Opportunity

  • Design and develop concepts for internal/external desktop and mobile media in a responsive approach for assets such as banner ads, social media imagery, presentations, websites, email templates and reports
  • Design print material when required, from booth designs to brochures, sell sheets, banners and other trade show material
  • Ensure corporate design standards and documentation processes are adhered to in production for all print and electronic material
  • Work closely with other members of the team to ensure designs are aligned with project objectives and appropriate creative briefs created
  • Develop graphical elements/templates in HTML/CSS templates ready for responsive design
  • Work with internal client services team to aid in stock photography and additional creative assets, iconography, etc. as needed
  • Participate in meetings and prepare reports to communicate status of projects/tasks on a weekly basis
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment

About you

  • 5+ years working experience, as demonstrated through a strong portfolio
  • Strong appreciation and understanding of web and print design tools and uses
  • Strong knowledge of methodologies; design, web, email, printing processes
  • Highly proficient with the current versions of Adobe Creative Suite, (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) working in both PC/Mac operating systems
  • Knowledge/understanding of AODA website compliance regarding design
  • Familiarity and experience with MailChimp is an asset
  • Good understanding of interactive design principles
  • Knowledge and experience with WordPress CMS
  • Strong knowledge working in HTML5, JavaScript and CSS in Responsive fluid builds
