About the Company

Our client is a high growth real estate investment company with a gorgeous office located in the heart of downtown Toronto. This company has been in business for 13 years, has launched 10 investment funds during that period and grown to $3.5 billion in assets under management. The team is comprised of very bright CPAs that work collaboratively to support the continued success of the organization.

About the Opportunity

• Responsible for the effective preparation, maintenance and reporting of internal and external financial records
• Responsible for ongoing improvements of financial discipline and accounting controls, implementation of effective accounting systems, strategies, policies and procedures, and appropriate documentation of controls
• Liaise with property managers on matters such as monthly/annual reporting; review and analyze results; supports and guidance where needed
• Ensure adherence with financial, accounting, and budgetary control policies and procedures
• Assist in preparation of corporate tax and HST filing for the funds
• Leads the preparation of the annual budget including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement for the funds
• Periodic ad hoc analysis including due diligence around prospective target investments and divestitures, and review of statement of adjustments
• Liaise with financing partners and investors and provide reporting catered to their individual needs
• Assist CFO with financing renewals and mortgage assumptions
• Responsible for the preparation of year end market valuation reports and calculation of returns
• Assist CFO with the preparation of presentation materials and data and present various financial results at annual board meetings and offsite meetings
• Other duties as requested

About You

• Chartered accountant designation (CPA, CA)
• 6-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience working with real estate clients
• Strong financial reporting, financial planning and analysis experience

Salary Range
$95,000 - $110,000/year
