Financial Analyst - 12 Month Contract


Reporting to Manager Investment Fund Management, the financial analyst will require proven experience to support and troubleshoot day-to-day operational issues using their exceptional analytical skills.

The expectation of this position will be to apply business analysis talents in the execution of work assignments.  The position requires an understanding of accounting, administration systems and ability to quickly investigate issues and determine correct course of action with minimal direction.

About the Opportunity

  • Research and resolve inquiries / issues.
  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls and apply them.
  • Document work flows and assist in process improvements.
  • Understand risks and issue logging, along with proposed mitigation solutions.
  • Prepare recommendations and implement mechanisms to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business and finance processes and controls.
  • Investigate, analyze and action test results and assess trends to assist with business decisions.
  • Independently verify and reconcile information under review, ensuring accuracy of information and output delivered.

About You

  • Bachelor degree in accounting
  • 5 or more years of accounting experience.
  • Trust/Fund accounting experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment.
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to liaise with colleagues and develop relationships across the organization to resolve project issues.
  • Proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in assessing business issues and associated risks.
  • Ability to manage and establish priorities and manage tasks with accuracy and attention to details.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and resolve conflict issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Pay Range
$33-$35/hour
