Financial Analyst

About the Opportunity

• Accounting
  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals of invoices and outgoing vendor cheques
  • Assist with the annual external audit and any deficiencies arising from the annual audit
  • Accounts receivable and collections
  • Prepare fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Payroll
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Ability and desire to contribute to the accounting decisions of the company
• Finance
  • Assist with preparation of financial forecasts and plans, including variance analysis
  • Assist with monthly/quarterly reporting of financial results to the senior management team
  • Assist with month-end close and reporting
  • Financial modelling and analysis to support business decisions
  • Prepare recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of finance processes and controls

About You

• University undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
• Enrolled in or recently completed CPA designation
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience with full cycle accounting
• Experience with financial analysis and/or reporting
• Great Plains experience would be an considered asset
• Experience using financial modelling (BI) software would be considered an asset
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of financial accounting concepts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical thinking skills
• Ability to manage and establish priorities and manage tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently

Pay Range
$25-$27/hour
