Director of Corporate Planning & Institutional Research

About the Opportunity  

  • Provide senior level leadership and guidance for the business planning process by setting and validating departmental/divisional goals and performance indicators to that ensure corporate objectives are achieved
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding organization-wide operational budgeting process, financial planning and resource allocation to the Executive Team and senior leadership
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly preparation of reports for the current levels of revenue and expenses for all operating budgets as well as projections for year-end
  • Oversee and leads the development management, and design of institutional data and analysis to support the enrolment planning process
  • Direct implementation of appropriate procedures to ensure implementation of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to protect internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide senior leadership to plan and direct strategic analysis for comprehensive and actionable information regarding key performance indicators (KPI), characteristics of the college/community and current trends in education
  • Direct the analysis of proposals/submissions to determine the effectiveness of projects requiring capital funds, space and other resources; including economic viability of proposals for revenue generation submitted by departments or external groups
  • Direct the development and implementation of the annual institutional research agenda
  • Provide leadership and direction to administrative staff and through them, to support staff, establishing goals, and determining priorities

About You

  • Master’s degree preferred or four-year degree in business and/or economics or public administration required with professional experience. Specialized professional accounting designation required (CPA,CA, CMA, CGA)
  • Nine years progressive experience in a similar senior position within a post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in the public and private sectors
  • Extensive experience in financial and budgetary planning and control, including experience with complex financial issues
  • Strong innovation and creativity to effectively identify and review emerging trends to develop and implement effective corporate strategies
  • Sound understanding of and proven experience with development and management of large, complex resource allocations/budgets, including monitoring and control techniques
  • Sound understanding of and proven experience with qualitative and quantitative research at all stages through writing, reviewing and presenting research proposals
  • Experience working in highly complex unionized environments
  • Strategic thinking, negotiation and strong analytical skills
  • Strong report writing, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong leadership, project management, strategic planning and conflict resolution skills
  • Political sensitivity and proven superior consultative, relationship building and management skills to drive/direct the college agenda to successful outcomes

Pay Range
$90,000/year
