Our client, a global private manufacturing company, is hiring an IT Infrastructure Director for a full time position based in GTA West.

Director, IT Infrastructure (Manufacturing)

About the Opportunity

The Senior IT Infrastructure Director will be responsible for delivery of all IT infrastructure support and data centre operations for a global private manufacturing company with 30+ worldwide locations and 3,000+ users. This position will report directly to the CIO and will assist in maintaining an efficient and well-organized IT infrastructure and networks that effectively support the business. This role will be responsible for managing Technology Infrastructure, including all owned networks, servers, workstations, production related systems, telecommunications infrastructure and user support:

• Manage the corporate technical infrastructure (including data centres), develop and recommend new technologies, and establish corporate standards and procedures for IT support and operations
• Evaluate new emerging hardware and software technologies; recommend cost-effective technology solutions based on evaluation and test results
• Oversee and hold responsibility for IT infrastructure related projects and initiatives
• Negotiate contract terms and pricing with vendors and other technology suppliers
• Design, maintain and support all SLAs and ITIL / ITSM processes that are established for the organization in alignment with company objectives
• Make routine and non-routine decisions within the scope of the job on day-to-day technical infrastructure support, as well as purchasing of technology products and services in adherence with departmental budgets, referring major issues to the CIO and IT Steering Committee
• Coordinate with all internal stakeholders worldwide (North America, South America, Asia, Europe) to maintain all IT infrastructure in alignment with corporate and regional objectives
• Serve as an escalation point for any technical issues, strategic IT infrastructure projects and processes
• Up to 25% worldwide travel may be required for this role. Ability to travel unencumbered is required

Pay Range
$120,000-$135,000/year 

About You

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, MIS or related disciplines
• At least 10 years of progressive hands-on IT infrastructure support positions in complex global 24x7x365 multi-location, multi-platform environments
• At least 5 years of IT management and leadership experience managing IT infrastructure strategy for international remote and onsite teams of 8+ staff
• Exposure to manufacturing or warehousing/supply chain industries is highly preferred
• Excellent communication skills and comfort in building strong relationships with everyone from C-level stakeholders to vendors and internal users
• Proven experience in developing strategic IT plans, standard policies and procedures, SLAs and IT Procurement
• Proven understanding and experience managing enterprise data centres, global LAN/WAN networks, large high availability ERP server farms, broadband connectivity, desktop and mobile device strategies for large companies of 1000+ users
• Excellent understanding and practical experience implementing ITSM and ITIL concepts into practice with proven ROI and efficiency gains
• Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects and initiatives on time
