Senior Financial Analyst (Closed)

Our client is looking for a senior financial analyst for a 6 month contract. Strong potential to extend and go permanent 

Responsibilities:

• Working directly with the Controller, perform complex analyses of financial data and prepare reports and/or presentations for all levels of management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process and ad hoc projects
• Assist in developing new analysis and KPI’s to enhance the understanding of company performance and yield new insights
• Using financial analyses, identify and clearly communicate issues, impacts, and recommend solutions
• With a customer-centered approach, meet regularly with management and budget leads within assigned business areas to review their monthly financial results, variance analysis, and prepare the monthly forecasts and accruals
• Working together with the business unit and other financial analysts, assist in preparing the annual budget
• Assist with month end process (revenue recognition and reconciliations)
• Create standardized routine reporting process and presentations
• Review internal controls and make recommendations to upkeep processes as we grow
• Assist with due diligence, audit and ad hoc requests from the head office and senior leadership team

   

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting is required
• Qualified CPA (CA or CMA) required
• Keen eye for detail and motivated to learn and grow skills in a changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to take on a “big picture” view and provide business recommendations to Controller
• Controls background i.e. implementation of controls or audit
• Comfortable reporting and presenting to senior leadership on business recommendations
• Ability to work independently but also engage with and be part of a team
• Strong technical skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with QuickBooks, Hyperion, Business Objects or similar programs is an asset
• Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
• A passion for the travel industry is an added bonus!
