Computer Operation, Mainframe Support – 3 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

• Monitor and manage the z/OS system and subsystems
• Manage and respond to system messages through the operator MVS and JES2 commands
• Respond to, submit and monitor production batch job schedule from Application and System programmers
• Mount tapes on drives, file tapes into library, pull scratch tapes
• Print and distribute reports
• Monitor and restart mainframe printers
• Manage mainframe TN3270 emulated terminals
• Resolve minor problems or escalate to second-level support
• Manage online CICS/IMS application region, create COCS application user accounts
• Perform bi-weekly system shutdown and IPL (night shift)
• Provide 1st level Service Desk support and log all Service Desk calls in ticketing system
• Software installations via SCCM remote tools

About You

• Minimum of 2 years’ customer support experience
• College diploma or recognized designation
• Mainframe skills: CICS, IMS, LRS/VPS, MVS, JES2 ,JCL, VTAM, TSO/ISPF, CA/TMS and system IPL
• Knowledge of Unix, Arcserve, Mainframe terminals/printers
• Superior customer service skills
