Analyst of Investment Accounting and Reporting

Our Client is a leading pension company located in the downtown area. The Analyst of Investment Accounting and Reporting will be responsible for the accounting of the investment General Ledger and for performing accounting and reporting functions for all investments of the Organization.

About the Opportunity  

• Perform month-end reconciliations on a timely basis 
• Recommend investment transactions to Investment Operations in order to ensure accurate information in the investment accounting system 
• Prepare and validate the month-end extract of investment balances from the investment accounting sub-ledger for posting to the General Ledger
• Prepare manual journal entries to the General Ledger with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation
• Prepare month-end and year-end working papers with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation for financial reporting and audit purposes
• Assist the Manager with the preparation of the financial statements disclosure notes as they relate to investments
• Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities to workflow and processes (system and non-system related) and work with IT to develop solutions, as needed
• Maintain and update internal Finance investment accounting operating procedures and accounting treatment papers to ensure that they are current and up-to-date

About You

• Completed University degree in Business or related discipline
• Successful completion of an accounting designation (CPA)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role in the financial services industry
• Knowledge of accounting standards and principles (GAAP & IFRS)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary Range
$70,000-$75,000/year
